  • Margot undertook her articles at Slater & Gordon in 1968/69 and continued to practise in the personal injury area with Holding Redlich for many years after joining that firm. She moved to Sydney in 1979 where she practised in the personal injury field and also spent time as Assistant Registrar of the Workers' Compensation Commission of New South Wales. On her return to Victoria she worked with the Legal Aid Commission before signing the Bar Roll in 1985. She remained at the Bar until 1993 developing an extensive personal injury practice specialising in Workers' Compensation.

    After leaving the Bar Margot worked briefly as a solicitor and then became founding Co-ordinator of the Pro Bono Scheme run by HREOC for the mentally ill. Subsequently she was employed by the National Roads & Transport Commission assisting in the drafting of the national raod law and developing strategies for enforcement of the uniform law before returning to the Bar.

    In 1998 after a break of some 5 years Margot re-signed the Bar Roll and now practises in the Family Court, Federal Magistrates Court, Magistrates Court in both civil and family matters, VCAT and Accident Compensation.

    Practice

    Since returning to the Bar Margot's practice has been predominantly in the family law area where she appears in a wide range of matters involving chilren's issues including appearances for the Child Representative. She has also been involved in property cases where both trust and superannuation questions have arisen.
