    Experience as a Barrister: Don's practice is principally in the area of commercial, construction and engineering disputes. It includes the mediation and litigation of disputes concerning building and public works such as City Link, wharves, roads and tunnels and other matters on the interface of technology, engineering and the law.

    Experience as a Solicitor: Don's practice as a Solicitor included mediations, arbitration and litigation in relation to harbour developments in Sydney; the construction of power stations in Victoria; mineral processing plants in Gove; metal processing plants in Tasmania; the design and construction of large commercial buildings in Melbourne and Sydney; aircraft production and operations and the legal liability of professional engineers, architects, managers and other professionals in the building and construction industry.

    Experience as an Engineer: Don is a Member (Fellow) of the Institution of Engineers,Australia and a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia's Professional Indemnnity and Legal Liability Committee. His experience as an engineer has included work for the Australian Government, the Canadian Government, the Interstate Commission (ACT), the Ministry of Transport (Vic) and various Local Governments and developers on matters relating to road construction, land subdivision, building plans and computations, town plans and planning appeals.

    Experience as an Academic included: lecturing in both law and engineering, publication of numerous papers, the supervision of Ph D candidates and the examination of higher degree dissertations. Don's university research work was to do with the use of plastics as engineering materials. It led to the award of a Ph D and employment as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in New York.
