ABOUT THE MEDIATOR - MARK HEBBLEWHITE:
Since 1987 when he first recognised the potential of mediation as a valuable process for resolving disputes, Mark has actively participated in the evolution of its practice in Australia. His experience is extensive:
* as a practising mediator conducting in excess of an estimated 2000 hours of actual mediation;
* as a presenter at international mediation and LEADR conferences; and
* since 1993 as a course presenter giving hundreds of participants - predominantly solicitors - national and international perspectives on mediation theory, theoretical developments, trends of practice, demonstrations as well as simulated mediation experience with coaching and feedback. Mark has developed and presented three day accreditation courses on behalf of the Law Institute of Victoria and has run numerous workshops and weekend intensives for organisations including Relationships Australia (Vic), Leo Cussen Institute, various community mediation services in Victoria and Tasmania and for departments of the Victorian and Commonwealth governments.
Mark combines a busy general legal practice with mediation work referred from County and Supreme Court lists as well as from clients' solicitors and clients directly. He is an active sessional mediator with Relationships Australia and a gazetted mediator with the Dispute Settlement Centre (Vic).
Over his ten years of mediation practice Mark has developed special expertise in mediating disputes where emotions run high, eg Probate/TFM, property and parenting agreements following the breakdown of family relationships (Defacto and Family Law Act), family farming, business and professional partnerships, Bank/client disputes, workplace and other contractual disputes.
