Richard Smith practised as a solicitor for approximately ten years prior to signing the Bar Roll in 1984.

He practices mainly in commercial law and common law fields in the Federal, Supreme and County Courts.

In addition to his main areas of practice, he has made numerous appearances before the Racing Appeals Tribunal and other sundry tribunals including the Pharmacy and Medical Boards.

He regularly acts as a mediator in County Court and Supreme Court Matters.
