Shannon was admitted to practice in Queensland in 1996. She worked as a solicitor in employment and industrial law for the next seven years. Most of this time was spent as a senior solicitor with Freehills’ Employment Law Practice in Melbourne and Brisbane, and as a solicitor with Blake Dawson Waldron’s Industrial Relations Practice in Brisbane.

In February 2002 Shannon signed the Roll of Counsel at the Queensland Bar where she practised for the next five years. During her time at the Queensland Bar Shannon was briefed by a wide range of law firms including Queensland Crown Law, and acted for a variety of corporate and individual clients.

In September 2006 Shannon signed the Roll of Counsel in Victoria. At the Victorian Bar Shannon will specialize in the areas of corporate and commercial law, insolvency, wills and estates, and employment law.
