  • Bart completed undergraduate studies in Arts taking Honours in philosophy. He was awarded a post graduate scholarship to undertake a Master of Arts (Philosophy) at the University of Melbourne and completed that degree. He was subsequently awarded another post graduate scholarship at the University of Melbourne to study for a Doctorate of Philosophy. He commenced studying for the Ph.D., but deferred those studies to complete a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 1998 and has, since that time, pursued a career in law.

    Bart completed articles at Abbott Stillman & Wilson. As a solicitor working in the commercial litigation department of that firm he practised in the areas of commercial law, intellectual property, trade practices, professional indemnity, insolvency and insurance law. He worked on a number of complex commercial matters including cases in the areas of intellectual property, breach of confidence, trade practices and defamation.

    Since signing the Bar Roll he has developed an extensive commercial practice. He appears regularly in the superior courts of Victoria in commercial, trade practices and insurance cases. Bart practises primarily in those areas as well as intellectual property, equity, banking and finance.
