Since signing the Bar roll, Ursula has acted as junior counsel to David Collins SC in a dispute as to the validity of a will, and Graeme McEwen in a lost will dispute which also involved an application to pass over the executor. Ursula is currently being led by Dr Kristine Hanscombe SC in three related proceedings being a Part IV claim and two trust proceedings relating to trust distribution from a superannuation fund and a family trust.
Ursula has also represented litigants in Part IV mediations, drafted affidavits in estate matters, appeared on applications relating to trust and estate matters in the Supreme Court and County Court and written various advices regarding trust and estate matters. Ursula has also appeared in the Guardianship List of VCAT and in various civil matters in the Magistrates’ Court.
In the last year Ursula has presented papers to the Wills & Probate Conference, the Western Suburbs Law Association and the Bendigo Law Association on topics related to succession law. Also, she has written a paper published in the Wills and Probate Bulletin regarding recent developments in the law of ademption.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Ursula completed articles at the Crown Solicitor’s Office in 1997/1998, has worked at both the Magistrates’ Court and the Family Court and was employed as a commercial/civil litigation solicitor for six years.
