Before joining the Bar, Clive was a senior associate at DLA Phillips Fox in the Insurance and Risk Management team, practising in commercial and insurance litigation. His work included professional liability disputes, general insurance claims and advice, claims for economic loss, and trade and transport related contractual claims.

He has a particular expertise in international trade and is the current chairperson of the Victorian branch of the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ).
