Rebecca Nelson (LL.B., B.Juris) was admitted to practice in 1997 in Victoria, 2002 in Hong Kong and 2003 in England & Wales. She read with Wendy Harris SC and signed the Bar Roll in 2008.
Rebecca has experience in a diverse range of commercial, corporations, administrative and public law proceedings, with particular expertise in employment, discrimination and human rights matters. Rebecca also has experience in international arbitrations and litigation in Asia and England.
Prior to coming to the bar, Rebecca completed her articles and then practiced as a solicitor at Arthur Robinson and Hedderwicks (as the firm was then known) before practicing as a Senior Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Hong Kong. On return to Australia, Rebecca practiced as Special Counsel in the Commercial Litigation department at Allens Arthur Robinson, handling litigation in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Federal Court and Federal Magistrates Court.
Since coming to the bar Rebecca has established a broad commercial practice with a particular interest in corporations law matters as well as employment and discrimination law issues. She has appeared and advised:

- in the High Court on an application for special leave in the matter of National Australia Bank v Norman [2010] HCATrans 134 as junior to Wendy Harris SC;
- in the Full Federal Court appeal in the matter of National Australia Bank v Norman [2009] FCAFC 152 as junior to Wendy Harris SC;
- in the Supreme Court of Victoria to successfully oppose an application to set aside a statutory demand in Supatech Holdings Pty Ltd v Westlink Group Pty Ltd (unreported 19 June 2009) as junior to Mark Derham QC;
- in urgent Supreme Court interlocutory injunction matters; and
- on a broad range of employment and discrimination matters in all Victorian Courts and the Federal Court.
