Since coming to the Bar in 2006 Meredith has appeared as sole and junior counsel for a wide range of private and government clients in commercial, tax and administrative law matters in all Victorian Courts, VCAT, the Federal Court and the AAT.  

Meredith holds a Juris Doctor degree in law from the University of Melbourne, where she graduated with a first-class honours average and was awarded the Melbourne JD Dean's Award for the student placed first in her year.  Meredith is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in taxation law at the University of Melbourne.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Meredith was Associate to Justice Dodds-Streeton, then of the Supreme Court of Victoria.  During this period her Honour was Judge-in-Charge of the specialized Commercial List, under the Commercial and Equity Division.  

TAXATION

Meredith acts regularly for the Commissioner of Taxation, the Commissioner of State Revenue (Victoria) and for taxpayers in  recovery, appeal and review proceedings in the AAT, VCAT, County, Supreme and Federal Courts. Recent cases have included:

Meredith has tutored in contracts and civil litigation at Trinity College at the University of Melbourne, and since 2007 has been engaged as an examining advocate in the University of Melbourne Graduate Certificate in Forensic Studies (Accounting).  

Prior to undertaking her law studies, from 1987 to 2001 Meredith worked as a professional opera singer and arts administrator in Australia and the UK.
