Bart completed articles at Abbott Stillman & Wilson (as it was then known). As a solicitor working in the commercial litigation department of that firm, he practised in the areas of commercial law, trade practices, insolvency, banking and finance and insurance law.

Since signing the Bar Roll he has developed an extensive commercial practice. He appears regularly in the superior courts in commercial matters with a particular focus on the following areas: banking and finance, insolvency, corporations and securities, trade practices, equity, property law and leasing.
