Douglas is available to appear and advise in a broad range of civil matters. His principal areas of practice include commercial, property, wills and estates, and defacto property disputes. He has appeared on behalf of clients in a large number of mediations. 

Douglas has a strong connection with Region people and issues, having practiced for many years in Warrnambool prior to joining the Victorian Bar.

Douglas also serves as an officer in the Australian Army.  He recently concluded his period of command of an infantry battalion and is currently posted as Chief of Staff, Headquarters 4th Brigade.   In the 2006 Australia Day Honours, he was awarded the Conspicious Service Cross for service in Malaysia during the 2005 Tsunami.
